Universal Texturing Layer for High-Current HTSC Tapes

2018
The inclined substrate deposition method is used to grow MgO layers applicable to set textures incorporated in high-temperature superconductor (HTSCs) tapes with high critical current density. The method makes it possible to obtain polycrystalline sublayers with pronounced textures independently of the substrate crystal structure. Simultaneously, MgO has good adhesion to substrates made of a wide spectrum of materials. This makes the method a universal means for growing texturing buffer layers incorporated in high-current HTSC tapes.
