Strength and Water Stability Chsaracteristics of Loess Modified by Consolidation Agent

2020
In order to solve the problem that loess can not meet all kinds of water conservancy projects because of its low collapsibility and strength. The loess was cured and improved through 5 soil blending schemes of 2 consolidation agent. The solidification effect of loess was studied by hydrostatic disintegration, water absorption, unconfined compressive strength and freezing-melting cycle test. The test results show that the water stability characteristics of loess after cured by 2# and 3# consolidation agent were improved obviously. After 120h of static water immersion, there was no change. At the age of 7d, G3-2 has the greatest improvement on the dry strength of the loess without water, which is 32 times higher than that of the loess without consolidation agent. With the increase of age, the intensity also increases. The largest increase in intensity at 28d was G2-2, with an increase of 30%. The largest increase in intensity at 90d was G3-2, with an increase of 77%. The consolidation agent greatly improves the frost resistance of loess, and the existence of fine sand improves the frost resistance of solidified loess.
