Injuries sustained by arrows are very rare events in the westrnworld [1]. Few reports,mostly fromdeveloping countries [2–4], re described. However, in the Himalayan nation of Bhutan, where rchery is the national sport, injuries caused by arrows are reltively common. The higher incident of arrow related injuries n Bhutan may be related to several factors. Archery is a highly ocial event where alcohol is often consumed. The sport is typially played on open grounds where the public is afforded little rotection. Additionally the recent transition from the traditional ow-powered bamboo bows to the modern high-powered comound bow has substantially increased arrow velocity. Despite the igher incidence of arrow related injuries, scantmedical documenation regarding management and follow up of such cases exists. his lack of documentation is assuredly related to the fact that njuries to the head caused by arrows are commonly fatal; espeially when the arrow is removed at the place of the incident.
