trans‐Dichlorotetrakis(pyridine‐N)ruthenium(II)

We present here the crystal structure of trans-[RuCl 2 (C 5 H 5 N) 4 ], which exhibits notably shorter M-N and M-Cl bond lengths, and hence reduced unit-cell dimensions, when compared with the previously reported isomorphous compounds of the first transition series, [MCl 2 (C 5 H 5 N) 4 ] (M = Fe, Co, Ni)
