Transurethral seminal vesiculoscopy application in the diagnosis and treatment of the seminal vesicles disorders

2012
[Objective] To develop a transurethral endoscopy technique of the transurethral seminal vesiculoscopy to examine and treat the seminal vesicles disorder.[Methods] Totally 61cases of patients with seminal vesicles disorder were diagnosed and treated with the transurethral seminal vesiculoscopy through the distal seminal tracts and seminal vesicles.[Results] 58 cases were successfully entered the seminal vesicles, operating time 25~85 min, average 35.6 min.In this group,7 cases were diagnosed as ejaculation pipe cyst, hemorrhage was found in the seminal vesicles in 14 patients, calculi were present in the seminal vesicles in 9 patients. All the disorders were treated properly.Following up at least 3 months,2 cases had post-operative discomfort in perineal region, but all of them resolved with conservative treatment.1 case had recurrence with seminal vesiculitis, improved with treatment once again.4 cases of infertility patients had significantly increased of sperm count and ejaculate volume,2 cases got pregnant naturally after operated 7 to 18 months.[Conclusions] This approach enables a new endoscopic technique with the transurethral seminal vesiculoscopy to diagnose and treat the seminal vesicles disorders through the normal anatomic pathway, and it can be easily performed with few post-operative complications.
