Depth Conversion and Depth Uncertainty Analysis On Bualuang Field-A Development Field Offshore Thailand

A depth conversion workflow which allows for incorporation of multitude of well trajectories including horizontal ones is presented in this paper. This workflow was applied to a development field offshore Thailand and the results are herein presented. Spatial variability of the density of control points for depth conversion creates an imbalance in depth conversion constraints. While some areas have dense well control, some areas especially the flank of the structure is likely to have a sparser well control, if any. In this paper we present a depth uncertainty analysis workflow which could be used to account for the variation of oil in place due to the uncertainty of the depth of the structure away from well control.
