Development and validation of respiratory nurse´s opinion about nursing standardized language, care plans and conceptual models: MOCMEL Survey

Aims: There is no validated test to know the degree of utilization and opinion conferred by respiratory nurses to different nursing tools, such as standardized languages, conceptual models and nursing care plans. The main goal of this work is to design and stablish the validatation of a survey to know the opinion and utilization degree of conceptual models, standardized language and care plans among Respiratory Nurses. Methods: Descriptive and correlational validation study. Descriptors to define items: “Nursing”, “conceptual models”, “standardized language”, "nursing process“. Validity analysis:Validation of appearance (Delphi Technique), Construct Validity (Confirmatory Factor Analysis) Internal consistency reliability (Cronbach9s alpha coefficient) Statistical Analysis conducted with SAS 9.3 Package Copyright (c) 2002-2010 by SAS Institute Inc., Cary, NC, USA. Results: N = 715. 79% female and 21% male. Mean age: 43 years (SD = 10.76) Delphi Method: 15 experts.22-item survey. 4 domains were obtained: Perception of usefulness (47,345%) Level of knowledge (13,490%) Frequency of implementation (6.249%) Degree of agreement (6.249%) All with a Cronbach9s alpha coefficient> 0.879 (Table 1)The total explained variance was 75.41%.
