Based on further conversations following the issuance of the last Communiqué in December, the H-SAA Steering Committee has recently decided to issue a one-year H-SAA extension while continuing to pursue focused discussions on a multi-year H-SAA during the months ahead.

In terms of next steps, the LHINs will be issuing advance notice letters to hospitals (as required by the Commitment to the Future of Medicare Act) in late January. Subsequently, LHIN Boards and Hospital Boards will be provided with an H-SAA amending agreement for review and approval. It is recognized that the timing of Board meetings vary across the province and that each LHIN and hospital have unique circumstances that will factor into the process. Therefore, please contact your LHIN hospital representative for details about the release of the H-SAA amending agreement.
