April 2018 Povcalnet Update : What’s New

2018
The April 2018 update to PovcalNet involves several changes to the data underlying the global poverty estimates. Some welfare aggregates have been changed for improved harmonization, some surveys have been dropped due to data quality concerns, and some of the consumer price index (CPI) and national accounts input data have been revised. This document details the content of and reasoning behind the changes made. In addition to the changes listed here, 97 new country-years have been added. This brings the total number of surveys to 1577.
