Effects of different-dose esomeprazole on acute moderate to severe nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding
2019
Objective
To investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of different doses of esomeprazole in the treatment of acute moderate to severe nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
Methods
Seventy-two patients with acute moderate to severe nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding admitted to People’s Hospital of Zhengzhou University from September 2016 to October 2018 were selected and randomly divided into treatment group and control group according to the random number table method, with 36 cases in each group. The patients in both groups were given fasting, fluid supplementation, supplement blood capacity and somatostatin. At the same time, the treatment group was given an intravenous injection of 80 mg of esomeprazole, followed by a continuous micro pump of 8 mg/h.The control group was given an intravenous drip of 40 mg omeprazole once every 12 hours, and the treatment lasted for 72 h. The clinical efficacy, hemostasis time and adverse reactions of the two groups were observed.
Results
The bleeding stop time of treatment group was (26.4±5.6) h, which was shorter than that of the control group [(33.4±6.7) h], and the difference was significant (P 0.05).
Conclusions
Large dose of esomeprazole can shorten hemostasis time, improve the hemostasis effect, without increase in adverse reactions rate in the treatment of acute moderate to severe nonvariceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding.
