Dip or no-dip at large |t| in pp¯ scattering
2013
We present the data on pp¯ elastic scattering at 52.6 GeV and 1.8/1.96 TeV analysed in terms of amplitudes, showing explicitly their magnitudes, signs and zeros as function of |t|. We show that a term representing the three-gluon exchange contribution creates a dip at large |t| ≈ 3GeV2 in dσ/dt at 1.8 TeV, but not at 52.6 GeV. If the D0/Fermilab measurements are extended to higher |t|, this prediction can be checked.
