Dynamic response of RC bridge span subjected to blast wave shock

Abstract The focus of this paper is to investigate the blast response of bridge span located at the vicinity of high explosive (HE) charge. These explosive tests will assist understanding the dynamic behavior and develop confidence in the computer model. A robust 3D computational model will be created using ANSYS and blast analysis will be simulated using LS-DYNA software. The model will be refined and calibrated using design of experiments (DOE) techniques to record responses that are good agreement with the experimental responses. Extensive full factorial experiments on the model will be carried out to determine simultaneously the individual and interactive effects of many factors that could affect the dynamic response of the simulation.
