EXCITATION FUNCTIONS OF REACTIONS OF 7- TO 24-Mev He$sup 3$ IONS WITH Cu$sup 63$ AND Cu$sup 6$$sup 5$

Excitation functions of the (He/sup 3/,p), (He/sup 3/,n), (He/sup 3/ ,2p), (He/sup 3/,p2n), (He/sup 3/,p3n), (He/sup 3/, alpha ), (He/sup 3/, alpha n), and (He/sup 3/,2 alpha ) reactions on Cu/sup 63/ and the (He/sup 3/,n), (He/ sup 3/,2n), (He/sup 3/,p2n), (He/ sup 3/,3n), and (He/sup 3/, alpha p) reactions on Cu/sup 65/ were measured at incident He/sup 3/ energies from 7 to 24 Mev. It is shown that the He/sup 3/ excitation functions are comparable to those of the analogous He/sup 4/ reactions. Computed cross sections based on the compound- nucieus evaporation model are in quaiitative agreement with observed vaiues for both He/sup 3/ and He/sup 4/ reactions. (auth)
