Non basal cell carcinoma yet Mohs: Specific indications for Mohs' micrographic surgery

2012
Mohs' micrographic surgery is the best treatment for (recurrent) basal cell carcinoma with an aggressive histological subtype in the H-zone of the face. There are more (potentially) aggressive cutaneous tumors where micrographic control of all margins is preferred. To improve care for skin cancer patients, boundaries are pushed and indications for Mohs' micrographic surgery are extended. We describe two cases of Mohs' micrographic surgery for the treatment of a primary poorly differentiated cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma with perineural- and angioinvasion of the nose and a multiple incomplete resected dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans of the scalp.
