Expression and clinical significance of EphA2,E-cad and VEGF in human non-small cell lung cancer

2011
Objective To investigate the expression and clinical significance of erythropoietin-producing human hepatocell-2(EphA2),epithelial cadherin(E-cad) and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF) in human non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).Methods The expressions of EphA2,E-cad and VEGF in 62 cases with NSCLC were detected by Envision immunohistochemical method. Results The positive overexpression of EphA2 and abnormal lower expression of E-cad were related to lymph node metastasis, clinical stage and 5-year survival rate(P0.05 and P0.01).Expression of VEGF was related to lymph node metastasis and clinical stage(P0.01).Expression of EphA2 was negatively correlated to that of E-cad(P0.01).Conclusion The overexpressions of EphA2 and VEGF and low expression of E-cad are related to lymph node metastasis and clinical stage in human NSCLC.Abnormal expressions of EphA2 and E-cad are related to survival time and may be taken as the markers to predict the prognosis.
