An Innovative Education on the Core Competency “System-Based Practice” for Medical Students: Performing Quality Improvement Projects in a Student-Run Free Clinic

Innovative educational methods are necessary for instructing medical students on core competencies. We implemented eleven quality improvement interventions in clinical processes at our student-run free clinic to educate our students on the core competency “system-based practice.” These could be used by other institutions seeking innovative learning for system-based practice.
