Clinical research of TACE combined body-γ-knife sequential therapy for middle and advanced stages of hapatic carcinoma

2008
Objective:To investigate the therapeutic effect of transcatheter arterial chemoembolization(TACE)and body-γ-knife in patients with primary hepatocellular carcinoma(PHC).Methods:Total of 106 patients with PHC were divided into three subgroups,36 cases(group A)received TACE(one to three times) alone,38 cases(group B)received body-γ-knife alone,32 cases(group C)received serial TACE and body-γ-knife,radiotherapy(thirty-three times),TACE(thirty-nine times). Results:The complete remission rate(CR) was 2.6%.The partial remission rate(PR) was 44%,CR+PR was 46.6% for group A.The complete remission rate(CR) was 3.8%.The partial remission rate(PR) was 53.6%,CR+PR was 57.4% for gyroup B.The complete remission rate(CR) was 7.6%.The partial remission rate(PR) was 52%,CR+PR was 59.6% for group C.Conclusion:For unresectable PHC,combined body-γ-knife and TACE serially is a promising therapy without increasing adverse reaction.
