Configuration and Frequent Fault Analysis of ASU in IGCC Power Plants

The air separation unit(ASU) in an integrated gasification combined cycle(IGCC) provides the gasification unit with high-pressure nitrogen,medium-pressure oxygen,instrument air and plant air,which has also relations with the gas turbine in the power plant.As a result,the operation of ASU is very important to stable operation of the IGCC power plant.Features of four kinds of ASU configurations in IGCC power plants have been analyzed and compared,while common malfunctions of ASU and corresponding handling ways summarized.
