Nefrectomia Laparoscópica em Idade Pediátrica

2011
Introduction: Many series concerning transpe- ritoneal and retroperitoneal nephrectomies have been reported. This article is a report of the 10 first transperitoneal nephrectomies and nephrourete- rectomies performed in the D. Estefânia Hospital. Material and Methods: Retrospective review of five laparoscopic nephrectomies and five nephrourete- rectomies performed over a period from February to September of 2010 in children aged 2 to 18 years old. All patients were referred due to complications of nonfunctioning kidneys. The procedures, trans- peritoneal, were unilateral, with the use of 3 tro- cars. The duration of the surgery, conversion rate, lenght of hospitalization and complications asso- ciated with the technique were also accessed. Results: All the kidneys were successfully remo- ved using the laparoscopic technique, without converting in any of the cases. The average dura- tion of the surgery was 103 minutes. Five patients were discharged home on the second postopera- tive day, three patients on the third postoperati- ve day and two patients had a longer period of hospitalization because of the medical-surgical complexity. No complications were reported during Data de Submissao: 29 de Novembro de 2010 | Data de Aceitacao: 16 de Marco de 2011
