Arthrite sterno-costo-claviculaire à Haemophilus aphrophilus: à propos d'un cas

1998
Summary The authors report a case of sterno-costo-clavicular arthritis due to Haemophilus aphrophilus . This bacteria which belongs to the H.A.C.E.K. group is a commonly found in the mouth. It was isolated in cultures from blood and sterno-costo-clavicular abscess in a 43 year-old patient. Evolution was favorable after abscess drainage and antibiotherapy for 7 weeks. This case was unusual because of the infection site and the nature of the bacteria in an immunocompetent patient. Infection could be linked to dental care in the previous weeks.
