Energy and force characteristics of cutting worn metal-cord reinforced tires

Research results are reported on the cutting of metal-cord automobile tires by knives of guillotine type. Relationships are given for the effects of knife parameters and specimen features on the specific cutting forces. A laboratory tester for the research is described.
