Gas Detonation Deposition Technology – New Prospectives for Production of Ca-phosphate Biocompatible Coatings onto Medical Implants

2019
Owing to technological feature of the gas detonation deposition method it was proposed to form the phosphates in situ just during the deposition process (in gas plasma). As it was shown by XRD and FTIR-spectroscopy the composite coatings consisting of nano-structured hydroxyapatite (HAP) (Ca 10 (PO 4 ) 6 (OH) 2 ), OAP (Ca 10 (PO 4 ) 6 O) and TCP (Ca 3 (PO 4 ) 2 ) have been formed. It was also shown that varying proportions and type of the initial precursors we obtain an opportunity to affect the composition of the resulted composites and coatings. In the work the new possibilities for application of the developed technology to create biocompartible coatings onto metallic implants have been demonstrated.
