Fetal bone mineralization defects following maternal inadvertent exposure of thiazolidinediones in pregnancy

Literature on the outcomes of thiazolidinedione (TZDs) use in pregnancy is limited to a few studies of inadvertent use, or use for ovulation induction, which culminated in either normal fetal outcomes or spontaneous abortions.[1-3] The present study highlights fetal bone mineralization defects in two women from Kashmir, India, who accidentally conceived while undergoing treatment with TZDs.
