Utilization of Uniplate anterior cervical vertebra titanic plate system in cervical vertebra anterior approach

2010
Objective To study and evaluate the application of Uniplate anterior cervical vertebra titanic plate system in cervical vertebra anterior approach. Methods Fifty-seven patients with ceruical uertebra disease which included thirty-two cases with cervical spondylotic myelopathy, seven cases with ceruical uertebra waywardness, thirteen cases with cervical spine fracture and five cases with centrum tumor, were given cervical vertebra anterior decompression and bone grafting using Uniplate anterior cervical vertebra titanic plate system. The condition of spine fusion were observed by rechecking X-ray statedly. Results All the patients were followed up for an average of(9.25±2.13) months.None of the complications including bone graft fusion failure, loosing, dislocation, breakage of the plats and strews presented.A significant improvement of symptoms and functions was obtained.According to Odom′s classification, excellent outcome was seen in forty-five patients, good in eight patients, fair in three patients and poor in one patient. The excellent and good rate was 93%.Conclusion The Uniplate anterior cervical vertebra titanic plate system is an ideal approach for anterior cervical vertical internal fixation, which is not only simple and safe, but also enjoys fewer complication and higher fusion rate.
