A Strong Hydrangeas-like Au-TiO2 Catalyst for Round-the-Clock Degradation of Oxalic Acid in the Presence of Ozone

2020
A hydrangeas-like Au-TiO2 catalyst for round-the-clock degradation of organic contaminants was developed, which can degrade oxalic acid by either photocatalytic ozonation or catalytic ozonation. Au-TiO2 with 1.5 wt% gold loading showed the highest catalytic activity, achieving 99% removal rate under visible light irradiation and 84% in the dark, respectively.
