POSTURA EN EL TRABAJO Y RIESGO DE ALTERACIONES MUSCULOESQUELÉTICAS EN TRABAJADORES DE UNA EMPRESA METALMECÁNICA Body Position at Work and the Risk of Muscular-Skeletal Disorders in Workers at a Metalworking Company

2012
In order to assess body position at work and the risk of musculoskeletal disorders in workers at a metalworking company, a cross-sectional study of 36 male workers was conducted, applying the REBA method to the aforementioned staff. Results regarding the workplace showed that the machinist and mechanic positions had a very high risk for musculoskeletal disorders in contrast to the quality control and correction positions, which attained low and moderate status levels, respectively, showing a statistically significant correlation (p<0.05) between REBA levels of risk and jobs. The REBA score correlation with musculoskeletal disorders allowed researchers to determine that there is a statistically significant correlation (p<0.01) regarding the knees. Likewise, a statistically significant positive correlation between the total AME and AME on feet (p<0.05) and elbow (p<0.01) was found. In addition, segment analysis determined simi
