SAGES guidelines for the introduction of new technology and techniques

2014
These guidelines for the surgical introduction of new technologies and techniques are systematically developed statements designed to assist surgeons when making decisions about the appropriate adoption of modified or new devices and procedures in their practice. The statements included in these guidelines are the product of a systematic review of published literature and expert opinion, and the recommendations are explicitly linked to the supporting evidence. The strengths and weaknesses of the available evidence are highlighted and expert opinion sought where the evidence is lacking.
