Schwannoma of the tongue: Report of two cases

1989
Schwannoma is relatively rare in the oral region. We reported 2 cases of schwannoma of the tongue.Case 1: A 12-year-old girl complaining of a tumor of the tongue visited our hospital.Examination revealed a red bean-sized tumor in the left dorsal surface of her tongue. After excision under local anesthesia, the histopathologic findings indicated schwannoma.Case 2: The patient was a 16-year-old girl having a thumb tip-sized tumor in the left apex surface of the tongue. The tumor was excised under local anesthesia and histopathologically diagnosed as schwannoma. The postoperative courses of both cases have been satisfactory without recurrence.
