Lumbar Sac Infusion Test Revisited

Despite CAT, differentiation between cerebral atrophy and Low Pressure Hydrocephalus (LPHC) due to CSF resorption block (CSFRB), and within the Benign Intracranial Hypertension (BICHT) sub-groups, remains imperfect (I). Prolonged passive ICP observation may clarify (2), but the apparently simple Lumbar Sac Infusion Test (LSIT) has experienced variable acceptance (7). The requirement for a simple, active, short-term and easily repeatable stress test of the CSF circulation remains. The LSIT was re-assessed.
