What Do Young Adults Like About E-planting? A Questionnaire Survey

E-planting is a new agricultural product promotion platform and pan-entertainment products based on Internet + agriculture. The objective of this study is to understand the preferences of users on an e-planting App for agricultural crop types and planting methods. An online questionnaire was designed. After one month’s investigation, we received a total of 201 valid questionnaires. We analyzed users’ requirements, attitudes, and expectations towards the e-planting App and the results indicated that participants were basically positive. The most preferred function of users was to plant and communicate about crops on the platform. Based on user requirements, we designed prototypes of an e-planting App for young adults. The main functions included ‘My farm’, ‘Community’,‘Shop’, and ‘Me’. The results of this study will help designers to understand young adults’ preferences for e-planting.
