Transients in a gas distribution system during switching in and out of operation of certain supply-stations

1996
The behaviour of a gas distribution system when switching the gas supply from one supply station to another is analysed. The objective is to analyse undesirable events that could occur in the system due to the redirection of gas flow. The analysis has shown that even in the case of instantaneous switching of gas supply there are no changes of gas pressure which could cause the safety devices to actuate. There are also no changes of gas flow rate which could unstabilize the gas supply to consumers.
