Growth of calcium carbonate crystals on the European Retrievable Carrier flight

Abstract On the Solution Growth Facility (SGF) of the European Retrievable Carrier (EURECA), clear, colorless crystals of calcium carbonate up to 3 mm long have been grown from aqueous solution without the use of a gel. This is a much improved result compared with previous solution growth of CaCO 3 .
