Experimental study on composite frame beam

2005
Publisher Summary The chapter describes the experimental study on a composite frame beam. Experimental results indicate that the new-type beam can improve the stiffness and strength of a member more effectively, consequently, can reduce the height of the frame beam and increase the headroom of a building. Experiments are conducted on the new type composite frame beam to provide the test basis for its application in actual projects. The steel-concrete composite beams can lower the sectional height of the member, improve the rigidity and stability of the structure, economize steel, and reduce the fabrication cost etc. It is adopted extensively in multi-storey buildings and tall buildings.
