Imaging of Cartilage Patho-anatomy

2017
Cartilage facilitates movement in many articular joints. As such, the health of the cartilage is particularly important because it is an avascular, aneural, and alymphatic structure that depends on the neighboring synovial fluid for nutrition and has a limited capacity for repair. Therefore, detection of early cartilage damage is essential for joint preservation.
