Early postoperative intraperitoneal Adriamycin. Pharmacologic studies and a preliminary clinical report

1991
Glen and coll established the frequency with which locoregional treatment failure occurs following complete surgical removal of the primary cancer in 43 retroperitoneal sarcomas. Two thirds of the patients who recurred had peritoneal sarcomatosis. This was the most common site for disease recurrence. The patients reported by Glen et al had maximal treatment with abdominal radiotherapy and maximal systemic chemotherapy. Aggressive systemic chemotherapy was not thought to improve survival in this prospective and randomized clinical trial [1].
