Correlation between the morphology of NH4Al(OH)2CO3 and the properties of CeO2-ZrO2/Al2O3 material

2021
Abstract Two distinct CeO2-ZrO2/Al2O3(CZA) materials were fabricated via deposition-precipitation method by regulating NH4Al(OH)2CO3 (AACH) morphologies in this work. Then, a correlation between the morphologies of AACH and the properties of resulting CZA materials has been concluded. As characterized, CZA2 from nanorod AACH displays stabled pore structures, thus exhibits higher surface area and pore volume (85.0 m2/g, 0.59 mL/g) with respective to CZA1 (66.5 m2/g, 0.35 mL/g) which derived from irregular AACH even being thermally aged at 1000 °C for 4h. While CZA1 from irregular AACH shows more surface vacancies and more active surface oxygen species due to its relatively stabled CZ phase structure, which is protected by the relatively stronger stabilization effect between CZ and irregular Al2O3.
