Clinical nursing of super pulse CO2 dot matrix laser and subcision for the treatment of atrophic acne scars

Objective To study the effects of two oral care methods on ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) in critically ill patients. Methods A total of 1 270 critically ill patients who underwent mechanical ventilation for artificial airway from July 2016 to December 2017 were enrolled. The patients admitted to the ICU were divided into control group (635 cases) and study group (635 cases) by digital randomization. The control group was given conventional oral care; the study group was given special oral care method: the patients in this group applied a double-sided toothbrush + mouthwash that was attracted by the middle hole to brush the teeth and rinse. After brushing, the mouth was cleaned with normal saline or warm water. The oral care outcomes of the two groups were compared. Results The incidences of halitosis, oral ulcer, and VAP in the study group were significantly lower than those in the control group (2.36% vs.6.30%, 0.94% vs.2.52%, 6.14% vs.20.4%), with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusion The double-sided toothbrush + mouthwash attracted by the middle hole is used for oral care of critically ill patients, which can effectively clean the mouth, reduce halitosis, oral ulcer, and VAP incidence.
