RECLAIMED RUBBER-ASPHALT BLENDS: MEASUREMENT OF RHEOLOGICAL PROPERTIES TO ASSESS TOUGHNESS, RESILIENCY, CONSISTENCY AND TEMPERATURE SENSITIVITY
1982
This paper reports on the experimental evaluation of rheological properties of reclaimed rubber-asphalt blends which can potentially be used to improve pavement performance. Reclaimed rubber obtained from discarded automobile and truck tires from 4 manufacturers was compared to establish if differences exist in the extent of modification of rheological properties due to chemical variations in stock rubber formulations of the various tires. A summary of the results of Marshall stability tests on rubberized asphalt concrete mixes is also presented.
