Curative effectiveness of anterior approach and posterior approach inguinal herniorrhaphy

2006
Objective To investigate the curative effectiveness and characteristics of anterior approach and posterior approach inguinal herniorrhaphy. Methods The clinical data of 67 cases subject to anterior approach and posterior approach inguinal herniorrhaphy were retrospectively analyzed. Results In 40 cases subject to anterior approach inguinal herniorrhaphy (Bard prefix plug),the average time of half-operation was (58.90±6.54) min and the average hospital stay was (5.21±0.86) days. There was one case of scrotal hematoma and 2 cases of ilioinguinal nerve. No incisional infection occurred in one case. There was no recurrence during 3~26 months. The rate of complication was 7.5%.In 27 cases subject to posterior approach inguinal herniorrhaphy (Bard Kugel hernia patch),the average time of half-operation was (40.59±5.81) min and the average hospital stay was (4.73±0.71) days.No complications occurred. There was no recurrence during 3~12 months. Conclusion Posterior approach inguinal herniorrhaphy (Bard Kugel hernia patch) is a firenew whole inguinal herniorrhaphy and characterized by minimal trauma,no tension and short learning curve.
