The invention relates to an electric propulsion pod for a ship comprising an electric motor having a stator (1) and a coaxial with the stator (1) arranged shaft (6), a housing having at least one housing part (2), which along at least partly in the axial direction of the stator (1) and which (a) comprises in the circumferential direction of the stator, at least partially, and at least one winding head (7) which protrudes in each case at one axial end face of the stator (1). To provide an electrical propulsion pod with improved cooling, it is proposed that the electric pod propulsion comprises at least one flow machine (5), which is between the shaft (6) and is arranged the casing and rotatably connected to the shaft (6), wherein the at least one winding head (7) by a first, by means of the at least one flow machine (5) umwalzbares cooling medium is cooled.
