Optical properties of human jawbone, spongy bone, and human bone substitute cerabone® in the spectral range 0.2 to 2.5 THz

2019
The physical properties of human jawbone, spongy bone, and Cerabone® bone transplantation material have been compared using terahertz (THz) time-domain spectroscopy (TDS) across a wide frequency range. The refractive indices n(ω) and absorption coefficients α(ω) of spongy bone, jawbone, and Cerabone® were determined in vitro, using THz TDS from 0.2 to 2.5 THz.
