Marine-facies gas reservoir identification by numer ical seismic modeling

1 LandOcean Energy Service Inc.; 2 Southern Exploration Branch, SINOPEC Abstract At present, few wells penetrate marine-facies rese rvoirs in Tongnanba area and the reservoirs are characterized of large lateral varia bility. Fortunately, we can characterize lateral reservoir thickness and variation by applying seism ic forward modeling to some different kinds of reservoir models. In this paper, we build correspon ding double-phase media models for different types of gas reservoirs, implement forward wave pro pagation calculation, and indicate characteristic seismic responses of local gas reser voirs. The result of this study is of instructive significance in gas reservoir identification in thi s area.
