Effect of psychological nursing on anxiety of patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery

Objective To explore the effect of psychological counseling on postoperative anxiety in patients with coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) . Methods A total of 58 patients with CABG admitted to Beijing Anzhen Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University from April 2016 to July 2017 were selected by convenience sampling method. All the research subjects were divided into observation group and control group with 29 cases in each by random number table method. The patients in the control group were given routine perioperative nursing, while the patients in the observation group were given psychological nursing intervention. The anxiety level of the patients in the two groups before and after operation was evaluated by Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA) . Results There was no statistical significance difference of HAMA scores of the two groups before operation (P>0.05) . After operation, the difference was statistically significant in HAMA score (P<0.05) . Conclusions Psychological intervention in CABG patients can effectively reduce the mortality of the patients and relieve the postoperative anxiety of the patients.
