Dermatitis de contacto profesional por resinas epoxi contenidas en aceite de inmersión de microscopía óptica

2001
Epoxy resins are substances with a high power of sensitization, specially in their low molecular weight forms. There have been described a lot of sources of sensitization. In 1998, the first cases of contact dermatitis from epoxy resins contained in an immersion oil used for optic microscopy were reported. We described the first three Spanish cases due to this new source of sensitization. They were three women, workers in the same laboratory of our hospital; two of them developed an occupational hand-manipulated contact dermatitis and the other a mixed, hand and airbone, contact dermatitis from epoxy resin contained in Leica® optic immersion oil.
