O conceito da qualidade nos produtos à base de Ginkgo biloba comercializados em Portugal

Ginkgo biloba extract is the most widely sold phytomedicine in Europe. In Portugal and many countries, most herbal products are marketed as dietary supplements and are not guaranteed, quality parameters, safety and efficacy. We conducted a study, collecting information, based on a sample of fifty products based on Ginkgo. It was found that 94% of the products could be found for sale online and that 89% of that had online information about the composition. Only 40% of the products reported the use of standardized extract of ginkgo and most products recommended higher doses than those referred to as therapeutic.
