[tau][r arrow][mu][mu][bar [mu]] and [tau][r arrow][mu][ital e[bar e]] decays in string models with E[sub 6] symmetry

A detailed analysis of the rare [tau] decay via [tau][r arrow][mu][ital e[bar e]] and [tau][r arrow][mu][mu][bar [mu]] in the string models with E[sub 6] symmetry is reported. It is found that [Gamma]([tau][r arrow][mu][ital e[bar e]])[similar to](6--7)[Gamma]([tau][r arrow][mu][mu][bar [mu]]) and these rates are in general about 1000 times less than that of [Gamma]([mu][r arrow][ital e][gamma]). It is also found that the outgoing muon in [tau][r arrow][mu][ital e[bar e]] is almost 100% right-handed polarized and the outgoing electrons would be predominantly parallel to each other. These decay processes may be accessible at the Superconducting Super Collider.
