Antibiotic-resistant profile of ciprofloxacin-resistant Enterobacter cloacae.

2010
Objective To investigate the antibiotic-resistant profile of ciprofloxacin-resistant Enterobacter Cloacae(E.cloacae) in our hospital and guide the clinical application of antibiotics rationally. Methods Retrospective analysis on the drug resistance and the clinical distribution of the E.cloacae isolated in the hospital from January 2004 to December 2008 was conducted, and the antibiotic susceptibilities between ciprofloxacin-resistant E.cloacae and ciprofloxacin-sensitivity E.cloacae were compared and analyzed. Results Totally 235 strains of E.cloacae were isolated, and the strains isolated from sputum and urine accounted for 42.1% and 23.4% respectively. The resistance rate of the E.cloacae to ciprofloxacin was 33.2%.The resistance rates of the ciprofloxacin-resistant E.cloacae to 10 antibiotics were more than 50%.The resistance rates of the ciprofloxacin-resistant E.cloacae to 11 antibiotics, including ampicillin-sulbactam,aztreonam and ceftriaxone, were higher than those of the ciprofloxacin-sensitive E.cloacae(all P0.05).Conclusion E.cloacae mainly causes the infections of respiratory tract and urinary tract. The drug sensitivity of quinolone-resistant E.Cloacae to all commonly used antibiotics decreased, and multidrug resistance was observed.
