Antistatic effect onto poly(epichlorohydrin) by graft polymerization of polar monomers.

1998
Hydrophilic elastomers were synthesized by the graft polymerization of vinylacetate or methacrylic acid onto poly (epichlorohydrin), and the effect of polymerization conditions on the grafting behavior was examined. Poly (vinylacetate) as graft chain was converted to poly (vinylalcohol) by hydrolysis of the graft polymers. Each electrical resistance of the graft polymers was measured. It was found that the surface resistivity of the graft polymers decreased with increasing the contents of the hydrophilic graft chains.
