Schistosomiasis is often a chronic and protracted illness with a high rate of repeated infection and a long incubation period.Although it can be controlled with chemotherapy,it damages the liver of some patients and leads to hepatic fibrosis.This article reviews the pathogenesis of schistosomiasis hepatic fibrosis and advances in therapies to treat the condition.
