CONTROL AND MONITORING OF A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

2017
Purpose: Develop a real-time embedded system to detect and report any irregularities in a hydraulic system. Methods: After a bibliographic review on sensors and flow measurement methods, knowing that through a set of flow sensors it is possible to identify the presence of leaks along the pipe. Considering factors such as sensitivity, accuracy and cost, we chose the YF-201c turbine flow sensorto characterize it. We use thePIC18F4550 for the conversion of the analog signal into digital pulses shown on display LCD, allow to perform tests that consisted of checking the linearity of the sensor, the relationship between flow and frequency of attested pulses and the influence of pressure on the sensor reading. Results: The sensor provides us with linear output with respect to the pulses per milliliters. The pressure does not directly influence the measurements, however it was not a matter of small flows, because he could not detect. Conclusion: Based on the data obtained and the modeling carried out on the YF-201c flow sensor, it is possible to conclude that it has not proved to be as effective for small variations in flow, however having in hand all the quantification of the sensor tested, the problem can be corrected by replacing the sensor with one of smaller diameter and more precise, as for example, the turbine-type sensors present in coffee machines. Keywords: flow, flow rate, sensor, measurements.
